Bastion of the Pure is an incredibly rich lyrium node far beneath the Deep Roads, currently occupied by the Sha-Brytol.

Background

This section contains spoilers for:
Dragon Age: Inquisition.

This area is a derelict lyrium mine.[1]Memories speak of an "unknown disaster" that lead to its abandonment long before the First Blight. A titan awoke beneath the mine in the time of Orseck Garal and the rhythm of its song "bled despair".[2]The earthquake caused by the titan destroyed the mine.[3] A statue of Mythal lies broken in the caverns, which indicates that elves visited them.

Now this place is filled with untapped lyrium veins and Sha-Brytol. Eerie blue waters of an underground ocean shimmer deep below.[1]

Involvement

This section contains spoilers for:
Dragon Age: Inquisition.

The Inquisitor follows Valta through the bastion in hopes of discovering the source of the earthquakes.
