The Arulin'Holm is a plot item in Dragon Age II.
Background[]
Arulin'Holm is an ancient elven tool used for woodcarving. According to Marethari, it is "as old as Arlathan itself," and has been in the keeping of the Sabrae clan since before the fall of the Dales.[1]
Involvement[]
In her quest to repair the Eluvian, Merrill asks Hawke to help her borrow the Arulin'Holm in the possession of her clan, beginning the quest Mirror Image.
At the end, Hawke can either give Merrill the artifact or abide by Keeper Marethari's wish to withhold it from her. Regardless of whether or not she is given the Arulin'Holm, it will not be enough for Merrill to complete the Eluvian, and she once again asks for Hawke's help in the quest A New Path.
Trivia[]
Denying Merrill of the Arulin'Holm will result in having a duplicate of the Honeycut, a dagger that can be obtained from the same quest.
