Duke Antoine of Wycome is a Marcher noble and ruler of the city-state of Wycome in 9:41 Dragon.

Involvement[]

When bandits begin to attack Clan Lavellan in a valley near Wycome, Inquisitor Lavellan has the option of asking Duke Antoine for his help with the matter. Josephine mentions he is an Inquisition ally, and that it is odd that he would let bandits come so close to the city.

If the Inquisitor chooses Josephine for the war table mission Protect Clan Lavellan, the clan will be wiped out and Duke Antoine will send a letter notifying the Inquisitor that his forces arrived too late and that he offers his condolences. However, choosing Leliana will reveal the bandits were bought and paid for by Duke Antoine himself for unknown reasons. Choosing Cullen unlocks the operation Break Venatori Hold on Wycome, where Inquisition agent Lady Guinevere Volant reveals Duke Antoine has a Tevinter advisor working for the Venatori.

If Leliana was chosen during Protect Clan Lavellan, the operation Investigate Duke Antoine of Wycome will unlock. Further investigation by the Inquisition agent Jester shows that Duke Antoine planted red lyrium in the water supply of Wycome's nobility to scapegoat the Dalish and alienage elves and drum up racial hatred. The operation Stop Purge of Wycome's Elves reveals Duke Antoine is in league with the Venatori.

If Leliana is chosen during Restore Order in Wycome, one of her agents will inform her that Duke Antoine gave his life protecting Keeper Istimaethoriel Lavellan from the red lyrium crazed nobles. Otherwise, Duke Antoine will die in the ensuing mob of angry nobles and elves after they band together to defeat him.

If Clan Lavellan is killed in any of the Wycome war table operations and Duke Antoine survives, he will remain the ruler of Wycome. If his plot against the elves of Wycome is exposed and Clan Lavellan survives, Keeper Istimaethoriel is installed along with a city elf and several human merchants on the new Wycome City Council with the intention of ruling both humans and elves fairly.
