Background Edit

Amrita Vein--named after Amrita, the hedge mage who discovered the plant in the Western Approach--grows mainly in desert environments. Amrita had been chased by Templars into the Western Approach, and as the Templars assumed she would die in the harsh, dry environment, she was abandoned there. Amrita, however, discovered a plant whose roots were buried deep beneath the sand and held enough water for her to survive in the desert.

Amrita brought some of the plant out of the desert with her and continued to study it, along with other desert plants. Her contributions regarding these plants earned her acknowledgment from the White Spire, and she was granted a fair degree of freedom for her work.
