Lady Amelie de Montfort was the late wife of Duke Prosper de Montfort and mother of Cyril de Montfort.[note]
Background[]
During her younger days, Amelie was great friends with Leandra Amell, and remembers her grandmother telling stories about balls Lord Aristide used to hold at the Amell estate. Amelie also knew Revka Amell, whose mage child was taken away to the Circle. She was sad when she learned that Leandra had run away with a mage from Ferelden. Amelie's mother told her that the same things that had happened to the Amells could happen to their family. Amelie felt pity for her friend, believing that magic brought misfortune to honest folk, and prayed to Andraste to help Leandra's family.[1]
She grew up to marry Duke Prosper de Montfort and give birth to a son named Cyril. When Cyril was young she told him about her friendship with Leandra.[2]
Later, Dulci de Launcet told Amelie that Gamlen Amell was living in a Lowtown shack, and advised Amelie to avoid a character like Gamlen.[1]

- Cyril never reveals his mother's name, but does mentions that she used to be friends with Leandra Amell. As Lady Amelie authored a well-documented account of the Amells via Codex entry: The Amell Family, one can conclude she is in fact Cyril's mother.
