Amara III was Divine of the Orlesian Chantry between 5:71 and 5:85 Exalted.

Background[]

Amara III was a sister of the Orlesian Emperor Alphonse Valmont. Her ascension to the Sunburst Throne after Divine Rosamund's death in 5:71 Exalted was controversial due to her close connection to the newly elected Emperor, as well as the fact that she had not obtained the rank of Revered Mother. She was said to have enjoyed bonfires fueled by the bodies of maleficarum. She ruled the Chantry with an iron fist.[1]

Ser Nolan Brisson, one of the templars who served Amara III as a Knight-Divine, was allegedly also the Divine's lover and her puppetmaster.[2]

Amara III died in 5:85 Exalted under suspicious circumstances, causing her brother to call for a hunt to uncover the conspirators, which led to the imprisonment of many Chantry members and three executions. In the end, no one was convicted of killing Amara III and her death remains a mystery.[1]

Notes[]

  • Amara III was related to her predecessor, Divine Rosamund. Amara was a sister of Alphonse Valmont,[1] and thus a daughter of Lambert Valmont, an Orlesian captain who married one of the daughters of King Azar Adalberto Campana,[3] who in turn was a relative of Queen Asha Campana of Antiva. Queen Asha's blood runs through the Orlesian royalty,[4] while Divine Rosamund was her granddaughter.[1]
