Changes: Adrian

Adrian is a mage from the Orlesian Circle of Magi and the spokesperson for the Libertarians fraternity. She is a tiny woman in mid thirties with a cloud of red curly hair and freckles. Adrian is hot-tempered and headstrong, and as a caster she prefers fire spells.

Background

Adrian was Rhys' lover, but he would never be the leader she wanted him to be, so they remained best friends. She still has some feelings for him.

When Lord Seeker Lambert arrives at the White Spire, he interrogates Adrian right after Rhys. She then voices an opinion that Jeannot's doing was a templar ploy. When Rhys is sent to the dungeons, Adrian leads a group of mages who demand explanations from the templars. After Wynne's arrival and the commotion in the great hall Adrian insists on following Rhys to the Lord Seeker's office atop the Circle tower. There Wynne reveals her mission - three mages are needed for the ritual, and Adrian volunteers to accompany Wynne, Rhys and Evangeline on their journey to the Adamant fortress. They leave Val Royeaux and move west on horseback.

When a heavy rain drives the group into a Velun's tavern, Adrian challenges Wynne to a drinking contest and loses. The presence of mages pushes locals on the edge, and tipsy Adrian is also willing to start a fight, but Evangeline averts a confrontation. Next evening Rhys finally tells Adrian and Wynne about Cole. Adrian realizes that Cole is the murderer and is eager to kill him. She is wounded by Rhys' lack of trust and deliberately ignores him. However when Rhys attracts a darkspawn attack in the badlands, she comes to his aid.

When Edmonde dies during the conflict between the mage convocation and the templar, she becomes the new First Enchanter of the White Spire. When the mages took refuge at Andoral's Reach, Rhys confronted her concerning Pharamond's murder, noting how she refuses eye contact with him. Adrian confessed that she framed Rhys for the murder so that Wynne would be forced to abandon her position of compromise with the Chantry in order to protect her son, knowing that Wynne would've convinced the College of Magi to vote against independence if she had not done so. Her actions in forcing the mage-templar conflict strained her relationship with Rhys, as he angrily told her that their friendship was finished because of what she had done.

Later, another vote for independence was held by Grand Enchanter Fiona. The Loyalist fraternity urged the assembled mages to submit, believing that they stood no chance against the templars. Adrian, representing the Libertarians, argued that if they submit, then the Circle would become an even more dreadful prison than it previously was. The Aequitarians, represented by Rhys, chose to side with the Libertarians.
