A Father's Name is a side quest from the Jaws of Hakkon DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition.
A woman prepares bodies for sky burial at Stone-Bear Hold. Caldan Enversen's body should receive special rites; however, his son failed to complete them. As guests of the hold, the Inquisition may present the required offering as a gift.
Acquisition[]
Obtained after speaking with Gyda Myrdotten at Stone-Bear Hold. Gyda directs the Inquisitor to speak with the Master of the Hunt, who explains that offerings must be collected from three Fade-touched beasts throughout the Frostback Basin. The Inquisitor can also speak to Finn, Caldan's son, to discover why he has failed to complete this sacred duty himself.
Walkthrough[]
Talk with the Huntsman. He'll instruct you to kill three fade-touched beasts located as follows:
- The Fade-Touched lurker is somewhat larger than a standard lurker; it can be found northwest of the Basin Floor Inquisition Camp protected by a pack of lurkers—which must be dealt with prior to engaging it.
- The Fade-Touched gurgut is an abnormally large white colored gurgut located northwest of the Swampside Inquisition Camp near the Blood-Stained Shrine landmark. The creature can be found stalking the area not too far from where Colette is first encountered during the quest Worthy of Publication (follow the stream located in front of the shrine and head upwards and to the left).
- The Fade-Touched spider is a unique giant spider that can be found downriver from the Canyon Inquisition Camp, just past the the Mystery of Winter chamber door—which bears similarities to that of the Solasan Temple's entrance. The giant arachnid will be aided by numerous giant spiders including several poison spiders. As the spider's health dwindles it will retreat farther into the cavern accruing reinforcements along the way.
Once all three Fade-Touched creatures have been slain, the Inquisitor must decide whether to offer the creatures' pelts to Finn or to the Huntsman.

- The Veilfire torch found near the Fade-Touched lurker's nest can be used to find a Veil Quartz deposit on the western ledge above the camp. The deposit can be a bit tricky to reach, see the main article for Veil Quartz for a detailed map.
