Am I the only one seeing a new theme on the Discussion pages which has white blocks for text, links and messages instead of the usual dark blocks with light type? I'm afraid that reading dark text on a glaring white background really hurts my eyes. I use the most recent version of Firefox, but I got the same formatting when I tried the page with Chrome.
What's on your mind?
- Be nice and treat people with respect. Keep discussions civil and be open-minded about differing opinions. Don’t argue, debate.
- Do not insult others or make personal attacks. Insulting, belittling, or other offensive language or behavior is unacceptable. Discriminatory comments that insult anyone’s gender, sexual orientation, ethnic group, race, etc. will not be tolerated, regardless of whether the comments are made against other users specifically, or just hateful comments towards a group in general. Users will be blocked with or without warning, depending on the severity and frequency of such behavior.
- Stay on-topic. Off-topic conversations (i.e. not Dragon Age-related or general help with the wiki) will be deleted without notice. Conversations that veer widely off-topic may be locked or deleted at moderator/admin discretion.
- Low effort posts that do not invite discussion may be deleted. Bad example: “I love Dragon Age.” Good example: “I love Dragon Age because of the lore, what about it do you love?” Posts without any text (such as just a series of emoticons or a screenshot) will be considered low-effort.
- No sock-puppeting or block evasion. If you have been banned and return on a new account, your posts will be deleted and your new account(s) will be banned, and your original account may be banned permanently.
- Spamming, trolling, or vandalizing of any kind will be deleted and will lead to your account being banned.
- Any questions or concerns, contact a moderator or administrator https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon_Age_Wiki:Administrators#Current_administrators_and_moderators
- Moderators and administrators reserve the right to block any users who don’t follow the guidelines with or without warning.
- To give feedback about Conversations, contact Fandom staff through "Give feedback" on your app's Settings screen, or via https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Contact/feedback.
Recently I’ve noticed more & more conversations regarding books from the Dragon Age series, such as Hard In Hightown & Asunder, which are definitely a part of Dragon Age but don’t fall under any of our individual games Categories. After talking with Warden Nuggins about it we settled on “Other media” because it should include comics, etc, which that Category can grab up like a pool filter. So please use it for such things, & remember to properly Categorize your posts :)
Just wanted to know your thoughts on this addition, & also to ask you all if you feel like “Lore” & “Strategies” are good to keep as Categories, not getting much use. Of late there’ve also been several conversations on EA, BioWare, trailers, voice actors, journalism/ists, competing games, & I wondered if you guys would like a specific Category for such content (which would also allow you to hide such content from your view, being a Category). Perhaps, “Production” would be a decent Category for that? It’s not necessary, but just wanted to hear your thoughts on it.
I've been on this wiki before but that was over a year ago. So I was just curious to see if the guidelines had changed and I was wondering who the current active moderators are.
I just wanna say, that this is such a good place to talk about Dragon Age! Sites like Tumblr is cool with the content, but things can get out of proportion REAL quick. I really appreciate how everyone here can be calm and just dicuss-- albeit the differing opinions.
You guys are cool, and I hope you guys keep being cool ^^
Good morning, Kirkburn from Fandom Support here.
We're in the process of enabling a new feature on your wiki: automatic draft saving in the classic editor! We are looking to roll this out across Fandom in the near future, but want to stress test it first and get feedback.
Essentially, this tool autosaves your planned changes every few seconds, so if your browser crashes or you accidentally close the tab, reopening the editor will bring you back to the same place!
You will have the option to discard the draft, and drafts are automatically discarded when you save your changes.
It should activate on your wiki within the next day or so.
If you run into any problems with it, please send a note in to Special:Contact/bug so that we can take a look! Thanks for your time :)
Hey guys, it has come to my attention that the Mobile Main Page for our Wiki was somewhat out of date, specifically that there was no Codex link for Dragon Age: Inquisition like there is for the other games. I’ve since added it, & I have corrected a couple thumbnails where Origins characters were showing up for Inquisition links. If you guys notice any other problems with links or images (or the lack thereof) then by all means let me know so that I can make fixes. I don’t use it, so I had no idea it was in any way outmoded.
If you have any other navigation improvement suggestions then by all means share these as well.
One last thing; I wanted to show you guys the new experimental landing page Fandom has been working on, called Community Feeds. The details are all in the link below, but if that looks interesting to you, then I can ask Fandom to try it out on this Wiki. Just thought to share it with everyone :)
Hey everyone, just a short notice that we now have a new Discussions Category for DA4 content, so please use it! It will definitely be renamed once or twice if we need to add a spoiler note / when the actual title of DA4 is released, but for now it exists for speculative stuff. Me & Warden Nuggins decided to create it early so that we’d already be prepared when the game is actually released, & also because we already have a great many DA4-related threads (as you can see by the size of the Category, since we moved old DA4 threads into it).
If you have any thoughts or feedback on this, by all means talk to us :)
Happy New Year everyone!
As the topic says I think it is time for our wiki to get a new Administrator who will help our old ones with the job. Ursuul is a Discussions Moderator for more than a year now and he has done a wonderful job moderating a rather volatile community.
He is also a Vanguard at Wikia. Furthermore, Ursuul is an expert in CSS and spent a lot of time and energy improving our wiki's infoboxes and spoiler templates.
He knows the job, he has experience, he possesses unique skills and he also has the time and energy to invest to this encyclopedia. Therefore I think he is the right person to join the admin team and contribute to our wiki under his new role.
Hey y’all. I’m so lost with the profile picture thing. Every time I try to add one in this app it always says uh oh. Something went wrong. Please try again later. After a lot of later attempts I’ve finally decided to ask! Does this feature not work in the app? Do I need to go online? Any links? Love some help thanks again!
Right so a Twitter friend needs help with some one who is a bit higher in the hierarchy of the wiki, I do not know what the issue is for they do not wish for it be public, you have to quote them " major editing power" please reply to this
Would that be possible? I have recently read through it and its fantastic, puts together not only a main timeline but very well done summaries of all media on ME, afterwards I came rushing here to see if someone has done the same for Dragon Age, but sadly its not here :(
I gotta admit there are some comics I have not read simply because I lack the want to read these "side" stories but if they were put into one overarching storyline I would be thrilled.
So basically I just wanted to ask, is anyone planning to do this, would people be interested?
We need a new spoiler tag for the Dragon Age: Deception comic. This is outside my usual skill set so if anyone wants to take care of this, please speak up.
Hey guys. I rarely do this, and I definitely don’t intend to make a habit of posting non-DA things like this, but this has potential ramifications for the Dragon Age _Wiki_, and so I feel it is necessary for me to share this with you guys.
^ That blog covers a lot of what you need to know, but the gist is that Article 13, a proposed law by the European Union, would obligate companies like FANDOM to check every single contribution for copyright compliance and general legality. This is much bigger for Wiki editors, but what it means for Discussions users like you and me is that FANDOM will be obligated to ensure that whatever you post here is in compliance with local ordinance; this means in effect that FANDOM will be required to censor posts based upon local ordinance.
This law is being reviewed by the European Parliament on September 12th. MEPs that represent citizens of European Union member states will be voting on it, and they have an obligation to represent you if you are a citizen of any European Union member state. You can call them, write to them, to ask them to stop this from happening. Non-Europeans, you can’t do much, but what Europe dictates the rest of the world must follow (as we saw with GDPR, dictating FANDOM make changes that affected non-Europeans). This WILL affect you, so it’s in your interest to spread the word as well. If this isn’t stopped, the freedom of speech you currently enjoy here may be jeopardized.
Thanks for your attention, and sorry for posting this; but it is very important, directly effecting this Wiki and its Discussions.
Is there a way to block someone on here? Just curious is all. Thank you in advance
I wanted to let you know that as of today, I am a Discussion Moderator on this wiki. I am going to help settle disputes and see that people adhere to the guidelines.
That means that if you have any questions or concerns regarding other users, the community, the Discussions or our moderation style you can now bring them to me. You can contact me using my talk page.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding my appointment, please don't hesitate to voice them.
I said my dk was messing up and i am told it never messed up for other people. Give me a solution dont slam people for making comments. Other wikis kept this in line. Not everyone has the same experience and they may need help belittling someone cause they made a comment isnt exactly helping just backing off other members from the community. Also this isnt one incident. Its multiple.
Hey, I’m a big fan of this app and have used it on many of my playthroughs of all three games, I am currently playing origins again and would like to use the app to create the best party for my playthrough but every time I choose the origins category when I first open the app it says there is not content. Would love it if someone could help and advice me away around the problem, thank you. (I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn’t help)
Hello everyone! We don’t usually have to post serious Administrative threads like this but once in a blue moon, since the community here is so great that we simply don’t have to change the rules or anything like that, the community quite nearly handles itself.
But recently in a few more politically charged threads, we’ve come fairly close to unpleasantness. Me & Amora have tidied up whenever outright violations took place, & though most threads don’t violate any policies, they can get very heated & leave people’s tempers frayed as we delve into personal subjects such as sexuality & gender. After talking to each other about it, we decided it needed to be addressed in some way.
So the purpose of this thread is to ask; how would everyone think about a policy change to deal with these sorts of weighty topics? Should we keep going & brave the occasionally charged thread in pursuit of a free exchange of ideas, or should we try something new & set some sort of guideline to avoid certain topics that are likely to put people on edge? We the moderators enforce the Discussions Guidelines (which you can review below) as written, but we can change them & change how we moderate if the community feels we should change. Your suggestions, & the consensus of the community here will decide what we do.
You can also take the time to give any criticism of our moderating styles to each of the Moderators here, provide suggestions or complaints, whatever you like. This is just meant to be a civil discussion to decide the way forward for our community, so go for it!
I've noticed that there a few new users here on the Wiki, so I'd like to welcome you here!
I'd like you, as well as everyone, to read the below link to the Discussion Guidelines. I don't wish to people's first experience here ruined, so please take the time to read them.
Have a nice day, and enjoy your stay!
So I’ve noticed that the main photos of character profiles on this wiki seem a little inconsistent when it comes to characters who have shown up in more than one game. For instance: Alistair’s profile photo is a still from DAO while...Cullen is from Inquisition. Why is that?
It’s not a huge deal, but if I may, I’d like to make a suggestion. I think this wiki should implement a tool that some other wikis use where they have several profile photos; one from each game. For reference, the Resident Evil wiki does this for their characters!
My apologizy if i gone too far on this Wiki from my last Post.
But,I think my post was succesful,You should thank me especially this Wiki's dying.
Also i have several succesful posts,I like Dragon age games & this's the only available app about it.
Of course,Or definitely there will be disagreements,Disrespects or even bad words out of lines in any society,Of course.
You,Dear @AmoraEnchantress must be more patience,You locked a succesful post with more then 20 comments & interesting informarions about the game FOR WHAT?
Is anyone else having issues with articles? I'm currently on the app and haven't checked the site yet (which I'll probably go check in a few minutes), but what's happening appears to be that all articles' dropdown tabs are nonfunctional, pictutes in article galleries aren't appearing, and one article I went to looks like its content were erased. So I was just wondering if this is a problem for everyone or just me? And if it's a problem for everyone, does anyone know what's going on?
(Not sure if "Wiki Business" is the right category or not for this)
So a little while ago there was a post on Editing the pages, and that the end its would disappear. The same thing has happened to me, I tried to make an edit to the Romance (Origins) page. Now Ursuul said that you'll have to wait a bit to see the edit, and it will be added to your contributions page. Thing is, it's in my contributions but not on the actual page, and I made this edit a month ago.
Any help anyone?
Thank you x
I make an edit and refresh, then it disappears. Is this a mobile bug, is it being removed?
Hello everyone. This is an announcement to let everyone know that the Forum (the other central area of discussion on this Wiki besides here) has been closed, & users who previously used the Forum may now start using Discussions instead, so that everyone is in the same place.
That’s all there is to say really, just a heads up in case the Wiki Business Category becomes more populated, since these users are mostly Wiki-editors who write the pages. A link to the Forum post where it was decided to close & switch to Discussions is linked below.
Peace, & a warm welcome in advance to the “new” arrivals :^)
Morrigan and flemeth are based on the real world mythological figures -The morrigan and flemeth , yet l saw no mention of this in the trivia section despite it clearly being important trivia that should be mentioned ,l tried to add it but it was reverted under the ridiculous argument that the developers never stated so, it is common knowledge and fact doesn't matter if they directly say so or not ,infact morigan is plagiarised from the mythological character . there are almost no differences between the two characters .
loghain mac tir is clearly based on some irish character or at least his name is based on the real world irish language , this was also omitted from the wiki for some reason .
dragon age is the spiritual successor to baldurs gate , once again that is common knowledge and was reverted .
I have a little problem. There are no references (citations) in the DA wiki app. Sure, they are down in the "References" sections, but they're useless when you don't know where they belong
Could someone repair that?
I'm really new to this Wiki stuff, and I want to make sure I do things correctly so I'm contributing and not making messes for others to clean up. :P
I am about to embark on the quest Rescue the Queen. I have read that there's a point past which you are unable to finish certain quests if you haven't already done so... so I've been trying to clean up the stray quests in my journal.
One of them, however, has me scratching my head. It's called "Have You Seen Me?", where you are supposed to find Renold during a random encounter on the road. I had been doing endless travelling runs at the end of each game session for about 15 minutes, trying to get this encounter to trigger. I finally decided it was worth it to look it up online, whatever spoilers I might encounter.
The wikia page here describes the abomination encounter and says that it drops a Feldspar ring. Okay, that triggered something in my memory. I searched my inventory and there is the ring, in my plot-related items tab. But no journal entry from Renold. And the quest did not update at all.
What I think happened was that I was really new to the game back when I took that quest, and I don't think I realized that abomination encounter was part of a quest. I think I just looted the demon and didn't actually look around for anything else. Because I have the ring, but nothing from Renold.
I'm wondering if there is a way to get back to that spot somehow? I'm also curious as to whether this could be considered a bug, or maybe warrants a note on the quest's wikia page?
Wikia has started adding Featured Videos to some of Dragon Age wikis most popular articles. We are in need of volunteers to help review already written scripts to make sure they're grammatically and factually correct, and of course relevant to the topic of the article. If you're interested in helping out, let me know. There are 9 scripts that will be ready for review any day now, and I'm sure more to come in the future.
How do I change my username?
How do you add info to a page. I found clothing (human) on DAO city elf origin
Why the photos in this Wikia arent appears when i browse it?
The Dragon Age wiki Discussions guidelines have been updated.
They've been personalized to better fit this wiki, but none of it should come as a surprise. Let us know if you have any questions, or contact a moderator or admin through their wiki talk pages.
Has anyone given thought to a Header Graphic? It can be installed via ThemeDesigner, & often turns out looking very good (dresdenfiles.wikia.com/d/g, diepio.wikia.com/d/g, sot.wikia.com). Would it not be nice to select an image here? Or perhaps have some sort of art contest?
Aesthetics out the window, there’s a few useful tools that might help with Discussions in particular. One is a Fandom-supported tool for moderating Discussions & generally keeping up-to-date, written by the Elder Scrolls Admin Flightmare, called DiscussionsFeed (dev.wikia.com/w/DiscussionsFeed). Some users might find it useful to have such a thing installed sitewide.
Besides that, & a personal favorite of mine, there is the DiscussionsRailModule script, written by one of my fellow Vanguards named Speedit (dev.wikia.com/w/DiscussionsRailModule). What it does is it transcludes the latest discussions into an aesthetically pleasing list which matches the other right rail modules on desktop pages. While mobile might not find much use for this script, it WILL advertise Discussions (& more importantly, the latest topics) most heavily, leading I think to an increase in traffic to this area (thus indirectly helping mobile users by giving them more people to talk to). An example of this script in use can be seen on the right of the page by going here: dresdenfiles.wikia.com/w/Special:Random
A third script, also by Flightmare, transcludes the Community App Bios onto user pages that don’t exist. While it makes sense for App users not to edit their profiles, to Wiki editors it looks really odd to see 2,000 Discussions posts & not even a user page. This script, located at tes.wikia.com/w/MediaWiki:Common.js/DiscussionsLinks.js, takes care of that by filling in the user page with the app bio (as can be seen here: tes.wikia.com/w/User:Only1storm666). That script I find very useful for allowing desktop users to get to know Community App users better.
So, do any of the above things seem useful for this Wiki? Helpful? Even if no one wants to install these sitewide, this Wiki has the Gadgets Extension enabled, so these scripts could be made into optional gadgets that could be disabled by users who didn’t like them via the link below. They can also be made to look more aesthetically pleasing with some CSS, so what does everyone think?
Have you guys thought of making a Discord server for the wiki? There's a few others I've noticed that have done this before. Just a thought I wanted to throw out there.
I'm happy to officially announce two new Discussions moderators! AmoraEnchantress and Steele-Woole are now here to help you with all things discussions. Don't bite them too hard, or I'll be forced to sic Loghain on you ;-)
Hey guys, in case some didn't hear about this, @Kelcat has created new categories for discussions to be filed into!
Please choose the most accurate category for your new threads/discussions from here on.
That is all, have a nice day everyone!
As you guys can see, our little Discussions is starting to grow. With that, we'd like to add a moderator or two to help keep things running smoothly here (I'll still be around some, but it's hard being a full-time admin on the wiki and a full-time moderator here).
Since this will be the first time we promote people to this position, it'll be a little more low-key than our normal more formal admin and moderator nominations. We've only got a few guidelines for what we're looking for in our new moderator:
1. Frequent availability: We don't expect you to be around 24/7, but you should be available on a near daily basis to help handle any crisis that may come up.
2. Ability to enforce and follow the rules: You're expected to not only be very familiar with the guidelines, but also able to follow them yourself. Blocking users and vetting reported content will be key parts of your job which should be used responsibly.
3. Fairly frequent contributor: We'd like to promote someone who is an active contributor to the discussions, and interested in being part of the community.
We're small enough right now that I only think we need one moderator, two at the most depending on how many people are interested.
So, if you think you'd be a good fit, or want to nominate someone please do so! (I know some names have already been mentioned but for the sake of keeping it all in one place and for those who might not have seen that discussion, I wanted to present this as a clean slate, so feel free to renominate those people!).
I just figured out I can make new categories for discussions! I've got a couple I want to add, but I'd like to see what kind of cats you guys would find useful.

And that's good. Welcome to the Dragon Age Discussion Board. You will find many helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable people here to help you with your questions.
Enjoy your stay here and I am adding a link to the Board's guidelines why not give them a quick read so you'll have an idea of what is allowed all and what isn't. Low effort posts as an example are frowned upon by the wiki and don't really generate much in the way of discussion.
Also if you particularly like a post or thread and you find it helpful don't be afraid to upvote. If you don't like a post well there's no down vote, sorry.
Again welcome to all of the new people it's really good to see the discussion board picking up and to see more posts on the different threads 👍
Ha, so I had no idea this discussion board even existed until a few weeks ago, because wikia kind of sucks at notifying communities of these changes.
Anyway! Since it's here, and since I'm an admin of the Dragon Age wikia I suppose I should start keeping an eye out on this place and not completely forgetting about it all the time. I'll try to check the reported stuff more often, and if y'all ever have any issues, feel free to contact either myself, loleil, or HD3 and we'd be happy to help you!
