Perhaps it was just my “OCD” always kicking in, but I really hated the maps in Inquisition. They always looked so cluttered, they were hard to follow, things that perhaps you had completed already wouldn’t leave the map like Astrariums, and lets not forget the terrible “mini-map.”
And where I go terrible picky and probably a bit silly, but I really hate the look of the map while you’re going around opening up areas, and it looked really messy, with some little parts being black, and it’d always annoy me, so I’d go to this specific spot just to take away that one black spot. And the edges of the map just looked horrible, with everything curvy, and bendy... I know. It’s stupid but it alwaysssss annoyed me. I prefer just straight, sharp, edges to a map, and clear outlines of paths and places.
So is anyone else with me on wanting better improved maps for DAIV? Another thing I’d be dying for is the ability to remove icons from the map. Some games have this feature where you can take specific icons of the map, to only show you what you wanna see on it. For multiple playthroughs, seeing every single thing on the map after knowing where it all is, and it’s just a clutter that u don’t need, I’d love that.
Another feature that I haven’t ever really seen before in a game but maybe others have, is the ability to add “notes” to the map. So if u found something or a place you want to revisit, or some loot that you can’t pick up at the moment, but you want to return for it, you can leave a note on the map for that place. Little details like that, would just make the whole map feature feel a lot better for me.
And of course an actual mini-map thanks BioWare. I have a feeling though, they’ll probably implement the “compass” thing from Anthem and what other games have done instead of a mini map. Personally, not a fan
