I played the games out of order so I’ll do it in the order I played the games since that did influence my choices.
DA:I- My first DA game, first romance was Josephine romanced by 2-handed warrior Mace Trevelyan
DA:O- First romance was Leliana. I wanted to romance her in Inquisition but sadly couldn’t, so she was my first choice in Origins and until recently, my favourite romance in the series (ironically it’s now Morrigan)
DA:2- Merril was first, what can I say? She’s cute and I prefer having Varric in my party over Isabella, though I did still enjoy Isabella’s, especially since my Hawke who romanced her was humorous, resulting in some brilliant quips
Either origins or 2. I liked the customisation of Origins, but having customs specs allows for more unique skills for companions and especially for someone such as Fenris who has unique abilities
^Which is annoying when EA recently released Fallen Order
^^Sorry if I made it sound like I being defensive, that wasn’t my intention. I don’t read the books or comics so I was thanking you for the insight. Thank you
^Thanks, I wasn’t aware of it being abandoned, makes all that effort I put into decoration seem a bit pointless.
To be honest, I was just putting ideas down, I hadn’t seen the images prior to this post, so I’m just brainstorming
^Possibly with the HoF off searching for a Calling cure we’ll get a possible cure for the blight and rather than ‘removing’ red lyrium, we’ll cleanse the taint from it (or possibly similar to how Fiona was cleansed).
My initial thought for the tree was the Fallow Mire, the image gives off the same tone as the Mire, although I somewhat doubt we’ll be returning to that region.
It’s possible with all the elven urns (assuming they are elven) the tree is somehow connected to either of the massacres of the elves, I’m leaning more to Arlathan with this theory given that Solas is from the time of Arlathan.
The arch in the first image is also sat in water and, to me, it looks like some of fortress is just on the right, possibly Skyhold. I think if Solas uses Skyhold it would be interesting (wasn’t it where he created the Veil?) and begs the question as to how he was able to remove the Inquisition from it.
Edit: I also doubt somewhat that Solas would willingly use the Taint. He seems to know more about the Old Gods/Archdemons that even the Wardens, and is intelligent enough to know the dangers of Red Lyrium and it’s corrupting nature. He sees himself as the good guy for that reason I can’t see him using Red Lyrium to meet his ends due to the risk of madness it poses.
Two handed Templar is a beast. You can both tank most hits and deal a decent amount of damage if built right.
Human male Templar (may change to champion since I re-did my canon playthrough and went champion to avoid lyrium addiction. My first playthrough I didn’t understand the lord as well as I do now so my choices were a bit random)
Stroud stays in Fade
Celene rules alone
Inquisitor used well
Softened Leliana Divine
Minor & companion choices
Thom Rainier joined Wardens
Bull stayed loyal (chargers kept)
Cole more spirit
Cassandra rebuilt Seekers
Inquisitor ‘joined’ Red Jennies, which I find ironic since he’s a noble
Cullen got off Lyrium
Dorian didn’t reconcile with his father (I think, I can’t really remember)
Barely spoke to Vivienne so didn’t get Heart quest
Josephine’s issue solved her way
Solas allowed to kill the mages
Might add more later, might also change my canon as I continue to play
As an older, more worn down Hawke I could see him appearance wise (the oldest we see Hawke is about 35 in Inquisition and Karl Urban is 47) but I’m not sure he’d match personality wise
^I suspect some of them knew/would have stayed, but then I don’t think Solas knew the full implications of what he was doing, evidenced by him now wanting to undo it. It’s likely he told them he could take away the Evanuris’ power by altering the world and that was enough for them
I’m a bit late but personally I’m going to say I don’t blame them. Humans are dicks, there’s no other way of putting it. To be perfectly honest I can see where Solas is coming from, he woke up to a horrific world and is trying to correct his mistakes (though his methods are extreme to say the least).
If i were an elf I’d definitely join him, especially since I’m assuming he doesn’t tell them the full extent of his plan, and is only promising them a bright future for elves and an end to human oppression.
Blood mage, spirit healer, arcane warrior/battlemage (main ones)
Force mage and necromancer (proper necromancy)
Ranger, assassin (obviously), artificer/bomber
Templar, spirit warrior, reaver
8/10, didn’t know Nevarra and Antiva
^Rogue’s alright. My Templar run is a dw rogue and it’s not bad, I just don’t play it much anymore so I’m still on act 1 despite starting the playthrough probably over a year ago
^Not sure. My canon Hawke is a sword and shield warrior, and I picked reaver specialisation which worked quite well but I probably enjoyed mage the most, partially because my mage Hawke was humorous
^Most people here love party members, who stands out the most?
^Are you talking about Origins or 2 with the companions?
^Not going to lie, I saw you’d replied to the off topic and thought it was TES
Personally I’m finding it alright. I spend a lot of time at home anyway so that hasn’t changed much and I still go out occasionally to the nearby park. I’m still looking forward to things being over though, hopefully soon
Morrigan. I remember on my first playthrough, I made the ‘good’ choices and was a nice person, so we didn’t get along. Then I romanced her and it’s probably my favourite romance in the series. It’s incredibly written and even if you’re just friends with her, it reveals such complexity to her character. Alistair is my bro, and I love Leliana (when I first played inquisition I wanted to romance but sadly could not) but Morrigan is one of the most important characters to the series, and is one of the best written
I’m going to be honest, I forgot we had the off-topic, it’s been a while since I was active here.
How’s everyone handling the virus/lockdown?
