Hawke is my favorite DA protagonist, there's no way I'm leaving him behind. Besides, I don't care about any of the Warden contacts, Alistair is one of my least favorite companions, I'm neutral towards Loghain and I barely know the other guy.
If anyone could survive in there, it's the Hawke I've built up. Plus, the Warden contact is needed to lead the Grey Wardens against Corypheus and possibly the First Warden.
Stroud. It was a rather easy choice for me TBH.
Impossible choice. Alistair and my Warden are OTP, but so are Hawke and Fenris.....so...it’s impossible. But based on what Flemeth said about the Abyss I left Hawke there to see if she could fly.
That's why Stroud exists. To him, Grey Warden is more important than his family. To my Hawke, family is everything. For me, the choice can't be easier.
Stroud. Easiest decision in the game if you ask me...
At first I wanted to leave the Warden Contact but I think the Warden contact is more necessary to Thedas' survival than Hawke. As much as we delight to live vicariously through Hawke -- an exceptional self-made hero who earned the adoration of attractive companions and Kirkwall -- the southern Grey Wardens needs a new Warden-Commander to recruit new members, recoup their losses, and train them for war. I assume the Grey Warden contact will be on the good side of the Grey Warden civil war and whose leadership will be necessary to ensure the integrity of the organization but also to defend Thedas from the ever present darkspawn threat.
At the end of the day, Hawke is just a celebrity whose life is not worth more than the essential organization of the Grey Wardens who serves a crucial role to Thedas' survival. It seems the pragmatic choice for the Grey Warden contact to survive. As Hawke says, "Someone needs to rebuild the Wardens."
But I suppose we will see the consequences of it if Bioware thinks there should be any consequence to it at all.
My first game of the franchise was DAI. And obviously, the first time I played I didn't know a thing about the lore, so when the time came, a male Hawke and a Stroud were nothing to me, and I didn't know who I should leave in the Fade.
So I made a research in the internet and found a comentary somewhere about why they had left Hawke, and I decided that the answer was pretty logic, and choose them.
Since then, I have always left Hawke, and to tell you the truth, it was really really sad the last time I played. A romanced Alistair and a romanced Hawke in the Fade are the worst case scenario.
I don't have a logic answer, I choose Hawke in the Fade always. I don't have the heart to leave the warden because I fear for their future and I am very attached to them.
I am really sorry Hawke, and Fenris. I think that the fact that I have always made the same decision and already know how to deal with it makes it more difficult to do otherwise. This is so sad, Hawke is really a tragic hero.
What do you think?
