How was Fiona cured of the taint aside from it being a plot device? Does it have something to do with Maric's dragon blood or sumn?
i always believed it was dragon blood. Diluted Dragons blood of reaver descendants are more common than expected as dragon slayers usually gain titles and land like the Pentaghasts.
Cassandra talks about it being prone to madness if you become a reaver.
@Red exe 060 Does it have any other effect on... virility?
Dragons blood, like the power of the taint & blood magic will remain more or less a mystery in Dragon age. In certain circumstances perhaps frankly I don't know. Thats up to the creators of the franchise.
Honestly it being the only way to secure both of your survival made it a really easy choice. If it's the only way to have a chance at a happy ending, of course you do it.
My Cousland Warden was maybe 18 when the whole thing kicked off? She's young, has just lost her whole family in traumatic circumstances, and so it went from 'you and me against the world' to love pretty smoothly. But she was also friends with Morrigan and trusted her.
It was actually much more sad convincing Alistair to go through with it the 2nd time through (mage Warden, romancing Leliana). That Alistair was still a virgin, with all these ideals in his little head, and I felt like I was doing something really crappy to him. At least with his Cousland, she could point out 'is this really such a high price to pay if it means we can be together afterward' and he could accept it!
My warden cousland gave up a life with a family when he took his joining. He's accepted the chances of bearing a child is pretty non-existent and will embrace the life of a warden and part-time chancellor of Ferelden. Atleast it will be a life of adventure and maybe glory. Better than the lives of most second sons who are sent to the Chantry to be templars and stuck in a tower with mages most of their lives. Atleast the warden can see the world and his martial and diplomatic training will be put to good use.
Anyways I like to romance Leliana because she's ride or die and very lovely. After a long hard day of adventuring, it's always nice to look forward to Orlesian caramel pudding sex lol. I like a girl who knows how to stoke the fire in a relationship. I soften her because I want her to believe in love, in "our" love I guess.
^ Aww! I love Leliana, honestly. I've only romanced her once (my mage was ALL about the girl power; she romanced Leliana and put Anora on the throne and had no time for the dudes) but that's also my 2nd Inquisition worldstate, and the way an Inspired Leliana talks about her Warden there is pretty lovely.
Personally, I love the romanticism of Leliana's relationship story and tend to end my games with it as something my Warden looks forward to after becoming the Hero of Ferelden.
Leliana, she was the first romance I did in Origins and I knew straight away that my Cousland would be attracted to a woman like her.
What do you think?
