So I am curious what moment or moments with your LI was the heartwarming or the most romantic, for you guys.
Personally, it has to be with Zevran when he wants to give you for the second time his earring and the talk about it.
Warden : ''That sounds like a proposal''
Zevran : ''Not unless you wish it''
^Ooooo the battlements scene is great! All Cullen wants to do in that moment is finally kiss the Inquisitor and that friggin' scout shows up and just pisses him off 😂
Aw and the poor Inquisitor gets so embarrassed and she almost suggests leaving it for another time, but he just swoops in and kisses her before she can finish her sentence, so sweet!
I actually really love the scene where Morrigan proposes the Dark Ritual to a Warden she romanced. In my ‘perfect’ world state, I romanced her but declined the ritual, so Kieran would be a normal kid and it was really nice how upset and angry she got, because she really cared about the warden. I romance leliana more (and I love her romance) because I make ‘good’ decisions but Morrigans romance is probably my favourite in the series.
In 2, I find the Merrill romance really sweet.
Inquisition has my least favourite romances. That said, the second time I did the poetry scene with Cass I liked it, particularly because my Inky was an Andrastian Vashoth reaper
Personally, I really like the diary comment in the Leliana romance, but that's because it's honestly a comment I'd make and it actually turns out well instead of awkward like what usually happens.
My favorite moment was Dorian's quest the last resort of good men. Family drama, blood magic , talks of arranged marriages.
That part right before the first kiss. Either Inquisitor or Dorian makes the comment about fighting for what's in your heart. As opposed to living lie that Dorian's father wanted.
My second favorite is the first time Iron bull goes to the Inquisitor's quarters . My Inquisitor was a hound dog. He flirted with almost every guy and every woman. Then I walk to the Inquisitors quarters. To change outfits. And all of sudden these words are spoken. "I've caught the hints. You want to ride the bull. " Bull makes it very clear he's in charge. Not many people have that kind of arrogance. In front of the Inquisitor.
You know, I REALLY want to know what that scout did after surprising Cullen and the Inquisitor. I mean, that's quite the juicy information 😂.
I think my personal favourite is when Leliana tells the story of the constellation of the two lovers. It's just such a sweet and innocent moment for her where she really opens up to the Warden. Leliana's romance is my favourite in all the games and I'd say that's the most romantic moment in that romance.
^^ Gossip for the forces about their commanders? 😂
^ That was a precious moment for me, too! She has a lot of little romantic gestures like that which I deeply cherish.
^ I wonder if Cullen ever considered the thread of demotion or DA's equivalent of a court-martial. Or a simply a Uriah gambit, i.e. sending the Scout on a mission they would not survive.
What Silver Warden posted a few days ago about Merrill.
Hmm, now I'm curious about one thing @Warden Nuggins - did you play the German localisation of DAO? I'm pretty fond of Leliana's german voice actress, she perfectly does both the soft/sweet and "dangerous" parts for Leliana. Well, of any sweet-and-dangerous character she ever voiced. *lol*
I played them in german way back, when I first got my hands on the game. I have since transitioned to english. I really liked Leliana's german VA, but I think I prefer the english one slightly. Mainly because of the accent. The german one doesn't have one iirc.
Now that's something I've never thought about or considered that @Buckeldemon and @Warden Nuggins mentioned; the voice acting in the non-English games. I've been doing FanFics for years where last names (or first names if applicable) are based upon the English-speaking VO's for those anonymous persons who only merit one name (or zero). But there are VO's in other languages for the games that had other languages spoken (and I've never thought about it, but how many languages was that? 4? 5?)
But you mention the accents and that got me thinking.
Leliana in DA:O was the most 'apparent' of the 'foreign' accents for the game, as Oghren was just Brian Bloom through and through and Sten (don't remember the VO) didn't really have an accept despite being from a different country (and race). Now Morrigan clearly has an Australian accent (considering that Claudia Black is Australian) and Zevran sounds Spanish/Italian, but Leliana was the first person you encounter with an 'accent', specifically French (as Corinne Kempa is French).
Makes me wonder if she had a French accent in the other languages... and what did BioWare do for the French version?
It makes me really sit back and appreciate that a video game will do that, adding flavor even if it's isn't necessary. A great deal of world-building was done for Dragon Age, and I'll admit that BioWare has done a good job looking at such aspects (like Kasumi's VO from ME2 being actually Japanese [and her name, Kasumi Goto, is actually Japanese for 'shadow thief', loosely translated], or Haluk from Anthem having Maoui/Native New Zealander tattoos upon his face despite that the world of Anthem wasn't Earth at all nor the people from Earth), investing a little extra time and money to make someone in a game different/better/exotic/you get the idea.
But that does make me wonder about the 'dub' cast. Did they get a French-accented German, or a German who spoke French? I'm trying to imagine French-accepted German; I wouldn't be able to tell if it slammed me in the face with a Volkswagen.
What do you think?
