So I am curious what moment or moments with your LI was the heartwarming or the most romantic, for you guys.
Personally, it has to be with Zevran when he wants to give you for the second time his earring and the talk about it.
Warden : ''That sounds like a proposal''
Zevran : ''Not unless you wish it''
I completly forgot about the sacrifice of Alistair! Those lines were especially touching to me :
Warden : ''Wait, this is crazy
Alistair : ''Sanest thing I've ever done''
And then they share their last kiss 😢
Getting morrigans ring implications.
Banter between Alistair and Oghren when you romance Alistair.
Oghren: So what did you do with her legs?
Alistair: What? Whose legs?
Oghren: You know who's.
Oghren: Dwarf ladies legs aren't even an accessory. They just get in the way.
Oghren: So what did you do with her legs?
Alistair: I'm... well... um...
Oghren: Got them out of the way and got right to business?
Oghren: Good for you, son.
(Proof that Oghren is a ladykiller)
Most might thing DAII when I mention Anders... but this one (despite the lack of romance) is a good one from Awakening
Anders: The last time I escaped they put me in the Black Cells for a year.
Anders: The only thing down there was this mouser.
Anders: Eventually, it got turned into a demon. Even killed a Templar.
Anders: The only thing I miss from the tower is that cat.
(Proof that Anders is a Cat Lady)
I will fully admit that I cringed my way through the Dorian romance. Yes yes yes, revile me for not being able to watch a man/man relationship, but I will give Dorian full recognition on being a charming, suave devil.
It was less painful that watching Cassandra fumble being romantic and that Marker-awful shot in her nighties. That was just gizzard-upchucking.
(Proof that, yes, I am quite likely an asshole)
But despite the sweetness of Cullen, the smoothness of both Liars (Blackwall and Solas)… Iron Bull was my favorite.
Seriously, who else gets away with slapping the Inquisitor on the ass with a smile and a wink and totally walks away with that will like a pro? And the bedroom scene (with intrusions) is utterly classic and hysterical. Hell, he even teaches the Inquisitor SAFE WORDS!
Fifty Shades of Grey by Iron Bull.
Alistair has many lovely moments, but the rose is probably the best. I wasn't expecting it the first time, either, so it seemed even more special somehow. I've done playthroughs with all the options in DAO but that is still my favourite.
(Although sad little shout-out to Nelaros, the ill-fated fiance of the female city elf. He made her a ring, promised to make her happy, and tried to rescue her, all without actually knowing her. That was a relationship that could have been so different and so lovely.)
DAII: Fenris is an angsty bother sometimes, but his apology for having left Hawke hanging years before is something really very sweet.
DAI: There is a moment toward the end of the story when the Inquisitor might stumble in on Cullen praying that is lovely. Later, in Trespasser, when the Anchor is heading toward meltdown and the Inquisitor says look, I just don't know how much time I have. Cullen's face is so earnest and sad right then I haven't the words.
And Dorian has these little occasional moments of vulnerability where you remember that he's basically a runaway kid, and younger than he looks.
For me personally, it's the pillow talk after Leliana's sex scene where she comments on Warden sleeping adorably. Or, let's be honest, the entirety of Leliana's romance.
In DA2, it's got to be Fenris's goodbye scene where he declares that there will be no life for him without Hawke.
And in DAI... several. The resolution of Dorian's personal quest where Inquisitor can kiss him for the first time. Sera's nightmare where she realises that she's in love with her Inky. And Josephine kissing Inquisitor after the duel. And the couch scene after.
And poor Cullen makes my teeth ache. Nothing personal, lovely character. Not my cup of tea. Same for Iron Bull. Romanced them anyway.
Also that smooch Aveline potentially gives Hawke in The Long Road? My poor gay heart.
Anything Alistair does, honestly.
”Maker’s breath, you’re beautiful.”
Telling you about his lineage upon entering Redcliffe.
When you give him his mother’s amulet.
His adorableness in the, “have you ever licked a lamppost?” conversation.
And, of course, him refusing to let you sacrifice yourself.
Leliana is a big tear-jerker for me, though - she’s just so sweet and trusting and puts 100% into you if you’re willing. That’s the kind of woman I need in my life... someone who doesn’t need me but clearly wants me 😩🤷🏻♂️😬
Took some thought on this one and concluded that every game has it's Romantic Moment. It's been quite some time since I last played DAO, but I will agree that Alistair's offer of the rose is quite lovely. Although my Hawke romances Anders (which actually turns into more of a guardianship - my sad romance), I liked Fenris's apology for leaving Hawke hanging. The "Nothing could be worse than the thought of living without you' line delivered in Gideon Emory's growl is just-! For DAI, I have to give props to Cullen. His Romance (culminating in marriage in DAT) is delightful. My favorite moment has to be when he and my Inq first walk the battlements and admit their feelings. He takes her waist in his hands and ... the scout shows up. There is a brief instant when Cullen just freezes, staring over the battlements - clearly refraining from throwing the scout over the wall (my interpretation at least) - before he turns and glowers. I find it both hilarious and heart-warming.
^Ooooo the battlements scene is great! All Cullen wants to do in that moment is finally kiss the Inquisitor and that friggin' scout shows up and just pisses him off 😂
Aw and the poor Inquisitor gets so embarrassed and she almost suggests leaving it for another time, but he just swoops in and kisses her before she can finish her sentence, so sweet!
I actually really love the scene where Morrigan proposes the Dark Ritual to a Warden she romanced. In my ‘perfect’ world state, I romanced her but declined the ritual, so Kieran would be a normal kid and it was really nice how upset and angry she got, because she really cared about the warden. I romance leliana more (and I love her romance) because I make ‘good’ decisions but Morrigans romance is probably my favourite in the series.
In 2, I find the Merrill romance really sweet.
Inquisition has my least favourite romances. That said, the second time I did the poetry scene with Cass I liked it, particularly because my Inky was an Andrastian Vashoth reaper
Personally, I really like the diary comment in the Leliana romance, but that's because it's honestly a comment I'd make and it actually turns out well instead of awkward like what usually happens.
What do you think?
