I’ve played origins so much that I’m wondering where to go from here.
I’ve only played everything else once, in this order:
DAO (including the 3 DLC; Shale’s, Ostagar, and Soldier’s Peak) (and obvs feastday)
DAII (NO DLC - should I?)
NOT jaws or descent!
Which order did you play and what would you recommend - finishing my DAO warden’s file through Inquisition or completing the trophy set and then moving on?
Honestly I haven’t started “new” (or once-played/not obsessed) games in a while due to comfortability and fear of change/anxiety.
I think you should play through the other games again, and personally I really enjoy the DLCs but some of them (like Legacy & Trespasser) are important to the overall story! 😊
My preferred order is this:
• Dragon Age: Origins
◦ Warden's Keep (I do the Broken Circle, then this)
◦ The Stone Prisoner (after Warden's Keep)
◦ Leliana's Song (after I've obtained Leliana's personal quest, but before I complete it)
◦ Return to Ostagar (after Alistair's personal quest)
• Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening
• The Golems of Amgarrak
• Witch Hunt
• Dragon Age II
◦ The Exiled Prince
◦ Mark of the Assassin (I wait until Act 3 to do it)
◦ Legacy (also wait until Act 3, and I always do it after MotA)
• Dragon Age: Inquisition
◦ Jaws of Hakkon (I do this before What Pride Had Wrought)
◦ The Descent (also sometime before WPHW, interchangeable order with JoH)
◦ Trespasser (obviously the true epilogue)
Oh and in terms of using your current DAO playthrough and going all the way into Inquisition, that's totally up to you. If you're just grinding for trophies then it's your call, but if you're happy with your Warden, choices, and overall world state then go for it! 😃
I’m oddly connected to my current warden, Natia Brosca/Aeducan. I meant for her to be pragmatic enough to make some tough decisions but she didn’t harden Leliana and was “converted” to Andrastrianism and in a relationship with the Alistair that is married to Anora.
I think I’ll go for it, Awakening through Trespasser!
Jaws of Hakkon is my favorite DLC of all games.
^Is that part of a greatest hits disk or do I have to pay to download it?
Pay, But it's cheap, Very cheap, I believe as i remember it wont pass 10 $.
And yes download it.
Maybe I’ll have money to spare once I get to DAI again lol
I highly recommend Legacy. Mark of the Assassin has no relevance to anything whatsoever, and you have to endure Tallis. But the combat is fun, as are the puzzles. And there are some funny moments during the party, and with the banter.
Jaws and Descent are both fun. Jaws gives you a whole new area to explore, and Descent has some challenging combat and interesting lore. None of it is relevant to the plot, though. Well, so far anyway. Some of the Descent stuff might become relevant in DA 4. Jaws is pretty self-contained.
This is my preferred order for the DLCs.
The Stone Prisoner (after both Redcliffe and the Circle Tower)
Return to Ostagar (immediately after The Stone Prisoner)
Warden's Keep (after all of the previous stuff and the Brecilian Forest, plus some Denerim sidequests)
The Golems of Amgarrak
Sebastian's quest sometime during Act 2
The other two DLCs right before the endgame. First Mark of the Assassin, then Legacy.
I do all of the main campaign, then the DLCs. First Jaws of Hakkon, then Descent, and then Trespasser.
I've only played DAO and its DLCs, but usually I complete everything in Lothering, then Warden's Keep (for the party chest early in the game), then Stone Prisoner (for recruiting Shale early), then (with a quick return trip to Lothering to buy everything I want) I defend Redcliffe and meet Connor before heading to Kinloch Hold to recruit the mages, then I save Connor before Return to Ostagar (with Wynne and Alistair) and on to the Bricilian Forest.
After the Archdemon is defeated, definitely play Awakening first, then Amgarrak, and finally Witch Hunt. Past that, I don't know.
What do you think?
