So what background do you think will be or should be for the DA4 PC. Me I Already plan to be a Qunari warrior so I hope to be a Tal-valsoth or a ben-hasrath
I hope they don’t do a tal Valsoth again because we had that last game and sure we didn’t technically get much perspective from a tal vashoth person because the game didn’t get into that much, but still it’d be nice to play as actually apart of the Qun perhaps or just take away the Qunari choice entirely.
It is going to be interesting how they do it, if they keep the exact same “models” from Inquisition and just change the background a bit or if they actually rework the whole thing to be unique to IV which I hope they do
And maybe even get into more depth as to who you can be and instead of just having Elf, Dwarf, Human and Qun, they have specifics of each one, a bit like Origins I guess. Elven Slave, Dalish Elf, Rebel Elf, Dwarf Merchant, Dwarf Noble, Human Magister, Human etc, and so forth. I think that’s hoping for way to much tho.
If they give us an option to be Avvar tho I’ll choose that
^Since DA4 is to be set in the north of Thedas I think a Tal-Valsoth background can actually work unlike in DAI where we were in a land far from the problems a Qunari politics and influence
^ yeh I know but still I’d prefer something new and different. And while they can make the Tal Vashoth thing new and different from Inquisition and actually make it an important factor of your character, it still doesn’t seem as interesting as what else they could do
I doubt very much they'll just reuse the character assists from DA:I. DA:I is already 5 years old at this point, assuming DA4 comes out in 2 years, by then dragon age inqusition will be 8 years old. assuming 4 years, it'll be a full decade old. at that point BW'll have to do something to justify the wait.
Well it’s gonna be the same engine so why wouldn’t I assume they would decide to use a shortcut and just re use the old models with a bit of retouching, just so they don’t have to waste time? I think it’s perfectly logical to assume that, no matter how long ago Inquisition came out. Same engine, same models. They will most likely do that with all sorts of things. The looks of creatures/weapons/people etc. and again, while I would like a bit of different variety, why shouldn’t they when it’s all their already?
I don't know if any assets from Inquistions are being reused but I do recall they are using the skeleton of Anthem. the point of that is to not have to build from the ground up all over again like they did with the last three games
Proably using the engine for anthem. honestly I hope they don't over use it, as anthem and Dragon age should be very differant games
Because it's been ages since a DA game came out and if it's basicly just a "cheap stand alone expansion for DA:I" it might receive some blowback. on the other hand, they might be willing to risk it, as DA:I still looks solid today and if they wait too long the reaction to DA4 will be "whats dragon age?"
I'm 75% certain that qunari will not be playable in DA4. Race options were added to DAI as an olive branch to win over DAO fans who hated DA2. In fact, the game was delayed a whole year to make the necessary changes. Since DAI was successful, the devs might not feel the need to include those options again. As much as I like playing an elf, I'm fine if the protagonist of DA4 is exclusively human. If it means that more resources are afforded to other areas of the game, then I support that.
As for a DA4 backstory, I think it'd be cool to be an escaped or freed Tevinter slave. Imagine being a "conscripted" soldier fighting in a battle on the coast of Minrathous (the culmination of years of Tevinter-Qunari warring). Maybe you're leading your master to safety when a Qunari squad shows up and your master is killed. You have the option to fight or flee. Or it could be a group of Solas' elves (a third faction in the war?).
^You are short of right. DAI was made with the intent of providing the best of both DA2 and DAO. One of the things that people most like of DAO was the multi backstory options. In the interest of keeping fans around Multi backstory is likely to return and A qunari option is most certain since we will be in northern Thedas where they are way more active
What do you think?
