So, Thanks To Varric's Girlfriend/Not Girlfriend Bianca, We Know Lyrium's Alive, and That Red Lyrium Has The Blight Inside It. My Question Is, Can It Be Purified? And If So, How Does Anybody Believe This Can Happen?
Why would you even want to purify it? You'd just wind up with normal lyrium, and it's not like there's a shortage of that. Sure it's valuable, but the process of purifying red lyrium is likely to be more expensive than the value of the normal lyrium that would be produced. Ultimately, it's much more cost effective to just destroy it.
Silver Warden, Are You Saying That Ridding Red Lyrium Of The Taint Wouldn't Solve A LOT Of Problems In Thedas? Plus It Gets More Regular Lyrium and The Dwarves Would Be Happy About Selling and Buying It! But We Know The Wardens Can Slow Down The Taint In A Persons Blood, and We Know That Magic Draws Upon Lyrium. My Guess Is Maybe Take A Play From The Seekers Playbook.
Lyrium Is A Mineral, Yet It Is Alive, So The Question Stands, If Grey Wardens Can Survive The Taint Like Fiona and Potentially The Warden, Why Can't The Same Be Said For Red Lyrium? Grey Warden's Could Potentially Slow The Taint and A Mage Or Perhaps A Templar Could Call A Spirit Of Faith To Purify? I Know It's A Stretch But Still.
^Is there a reason you're capitalizing the first letter of every single word?
Purifying red lyrium wouldn't solve any problems that destroying it wouldn't also solve. So yes, that's what I'm saying. Grey wardens don't exactly survive the taint, they simply endure it. Wardening red lyrium wouldn't cleanse it - wardens are still tainted. And I can't imagine how a titan could possibly undergo the Joining anyway.
I don't think you can remove the Blight from anything in Dragon Age but for beings such as Elves, Humans, Dwarves and Qunari they get corrupted and they can just join the Grey Wardens. I don't think Red Lyrium can join the Grey Wardens so... How would that even be possible? I suppose some strange magic could purify Red Lyrium but who would even have that magic? Trying to purify Red Lyrium isn't as simple as it sounds in words - it seems impossible when you know the facts but so does being immortal and yet Xenon the Antiquarian has lived for Ages. Maybe it's possible but I doubt it... Sorry but my mind's drawing a blank on this whole theory.
^It's not impossible. Embryos can be cleansed of the taint without killing them. Merrill cleansed the Eluvian remnants. Fiona was cured somehow, though I suspect that the Architect is responsible for that.
Oh for chripes sake, really? I don't even want to know where you got that from
^^If that were true, wouldn't Alistair cure the Warden when they sleep together? And for that matter couldn't he just cure himself?
Hard to say, Alistair is a walking self-proclaimed idiot and contradiction to this line of thought, he's a warden himself, so how can we be sure it would even happen if it's true
And on top of that Dwarves and Wardens are technically in the same boat as the Krogan of Mass effect, Viable pregnancies even though it isn't involved in Dragon Age, Is Extremely Difficult. Wardens Have Lower Fertility and Virility Because Of The Taint, So Even If Fiona Cured Because Maric Spent himself in Her, Can We Completely Believe It Would Work With Alistair and A Fem Warden?
^Of course not. The whole thing is just a joke.
What do you think?
